Welcome To Our Regional Vocational Training Institute for Women
The Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE & T) under the Ministry of Labour and
Employment, launched the Vocational Training Programme exclusively for women in 1977. This programme
aimed at establishing women exclusive Vocational Training at all regions of India. RVTI for Women at
Kolkata.
Our Activities
The Directorate General of Employment and Training
(DGE & T), Ministry of Labour, launched the Women’s
Vocational Training programme in 1977. This aimed at establishing women exclusive training facilities at regional,
all over the country.
Presently, the training facilities have been established through a network of 11 Vocational Training Institutes – a
NATIONAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE (NVTI) for Women, at Noida, an apex Institute, and 10 REGIONAL
VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE (RVTI) for Women at Mumbai, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Hisar, Calcutta, Tura,
Indore Allahabad, Vadodara, Jaipur.

The NVTI/RVTIs organize regular training programmes in trades having high employability. Training programmes
are designed on industrial pattern, which includes 8 hours of regular training each day - 5 days a week with no
vacations in between the training programmes, leaves etc. are as per the rules of the Government of India.
